Nova came into NYC’s Animal Care & Control after falling seven stories from a high-rise building. She is a young cat that was surrendered by her owners. Nova suffered severe trauma from this fall. She has extensive facial fractures both to her upper and lower jaw.
Additionally she has a huge and wide hard palate fracture. She cannot close her mouth and is in a great deal of pain. A feeding tube was placed in her neck as she cannot eat. She will need stabilization of the bone and repair of of both her upper and lower jaw. A dental surgeon and orthopedic surgeon will have to put Nova back together again. This is an expensive but necessary endeavor. Due to her age and otherwise healthy body condition, her veterinarian’s give her a good prognosis.
Little Wanderers wants to give her that chance. The estimate of surgery is $6,000. We’ve started this fundraiser to help Nova receive the surgery she needs to survive. It’s either this or euthanasia. She cannot live with these fractures. Little Wanderers has pulled her from the shelter and her wonderful foster, Dr Raquel Leon-Jordan, will feed her through her feeding tube while we fundraise. She cannot wait long so we must raise this money within one week!
Through no fault of her own, Nova had a tragic accident. Her life hangs in a delicate balance. Help Nova live. Make a tax deductible contribution today.
