Join us and help to purchase hot & fresh meals from LOCAL MOBILE RESTAURANT OWNERS who are setting up for service at churches, food banks, and schools to serve individuals and families who are still in need of food support due to the length of this crisis.
Nourishing Networks, a true non-profit agency (100% of donations go toward the project), is taking in donations to keep the Mobile Meal Alliance program continued. Funds are equally disbursed to food banks, schools and other businesses who are hosting a food truck in their community to feed people. This program helps to also keep our small mobile food businesses alive, it "levels the field" for those in need, and provides a safe, hot meal.... different from the food bank.
The Mobile Meal Alliance began on May 7th and is a partnership program between the Washington State Food Truck Association and Nourishing Networks, a 501C3 non profit "network agency" organization. Funds donated are converted into food truck meal vouchers that are then redeemed at the food trucks. Printed meal vouchers are distributed to local non-profits (YMCA, Salvation Army, Family Connection Centers, food banks, etc.) or to individuals and families in need of food support. The voucher contains all the information needed for people to visit a food truck and receive food without cost to them.
Mobile food vending is well-suited for these challenging times, because customers don’t need to enter a building or confined space, the food is prepared in plain sight by a small crew (usually just one or two people), and customers can complete the transaction with very minimal interaction by simply placing vouchers into the jar on the service window shelf.
As of August 21st, the Mobile Meal Alliance program has fed over 7,000 food truck meals!
Join us in donating today, so together we can quickly make a greater, positive impact that helps sustain our community.
