MY EPIC ADVENTURE CHALLENGE
To all my friends and family out there. As you all know I love to take some crazy adventures, and push the limits. I have found a great organization called Piper's Angels, a charity to support and challenge myself like I have never before. I have signed up for the crossing for Cystic Fibrosis and will be paddeling on my paddle board 80 miles across the ocean from Bimini Bahamas to Lake Wort Beach Florida. I need to raise $1500 .00 for the charity itself to participate in this epic adventure. I am asking all of my friends and co workers to help me raise the money for this great cause. Thank you all in advance and please say a prayer for all those with CF and to keep me safe on this challenge!
The Crossing For A Cure is a long-distance endurance paddle challenge and international championship that takes paddlers 80 miles across the Gulf Stream from Bimini in the Bahamas back to the Florida mainland in Lake Worth. The event was inspired because of the incredible health benefits of the Ocean for those living with cystic fibrosis. Travis Suit's daughter Piper was diagnosed with CF when she was four years old.
About cystic fibrosis
Cystic fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. In people with CF, a defective gene causes a thick, buildup of mucus in the lungs, pancreas and other organs. In the lungs, the mucus clogs the airways and traps bacteria leading to infections, extensive lung damage and eventually, failure. In the pancreas, the mucus prevents the release of digestive enzymes that allow the body to break down food and absorb vital nutrients.
