Celebrate Safely by Donating to the Northwestern Settlement House Holiday Programs
This year, K&L Gates is giving back virtually to Northwestern Settlement to spread some holiday cheer. Northwestern Settlement, located in West Town, supports their neighbors and families by providing access to food and emergency services as well as holistic care like early childhood education, free full day childcare, mental health services, and more.
With the uncertainty and difficulties of COVID-19, the importance of giving this holiday season is critical. The Settlement has already seen a 400% increase in distribution at our Food Pantry this year. Additionally, the Holiday season can often be a source of anxiety for Settlement families. The Adopt-A-Family and Toy Room programs brighten the holiday season by lifting some of the emotional and financial burdens from families.
For the 2020 Global Day of Service, the Chicago office has decided to introduce a Virtual Volunteer Opportunity, by way of a 5K run/walk and monetary donation drive for the Northwestern University Settlement House. For those who opt to do the virtual 5K run/walk, the office will donate $30.00 on behalf of each individual. All you need to do is get moving!
For those of you who have no desire run/walk, you can still participate in our global day of service by contributing a monetary donation through our GoFundMe account.
