When you donate to the NORTH OAKLAND FAMILY YMCA, you make the NORTH OAKLAND COMMUNITY better through programs focused on:
Summer Day Camp: $85 provides 1 week of day camp Day camp at the Y helps kids form new friendships, strengthen confidence and sharpen character. The Y is also working to close the achievement gap and reverse the trend of summer learning loss throughout Metro Detroit by including educational programs into all of our summer day camps. However, not all children have access to enriching summer experiences.
Girls on the Run/STRIDE: $300 provides 2 Girls on the Run®/STRIDE registrations These afterschool programs use the power of running to help prepare youth for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living with interactive activities such as running, playing games and meaningful discussions culminating in a 5K run. Youth in third through eighth grades learn a greater self-awareness, a sense of achievement and team building skills to help them become strong and self-confident.
Military Families: $135 provides 1 year enrichment program The Y offers military programs specifically targeted to those who have a deployed family member. Children in these programs can make friends, and the Y provides a safe distraction as military parents are serving our country.
Additionally, these programs will give respite to the lone parent who is taking care of all the family needs while the military parent is on duty. Every dollar donated to the NORTH OAKLAND FAMILY YMCA has a lasting impact on the people of the NORTH OAKLAND COMMUNITY. Give today for a better us.
