Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page! Please support me in my commitment to support 4-H! As many of you know, I currently serve on the National 4-H Council's Youth Advisory Committee with ten other alumni who are easily some of the most committed people I know. These 4-H alumni range from all over the United States and its territories who believe in the same thing - the Power of Youth.
Our fundriaisng strategy is as follows: When you give, 60% of your contribution will support the 4-H Grow True Leaders campaign to grow 4-H nationwide, 20% of will directly support Ohio 4-H (go bucks!), and 20% will support the YAC Cause for 2018: helping the Puerto Rico 4-H program that is still recovering after the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria.
By being a part of this committee, I have pledged to help the next generation of leaders like the ones before me helped me to become. 4-H has provided me so many opportunities over the years and these are opportunities that I will forever be thankful for. So thank you 4-H 🍀 Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a leader. thank you for giving me the most wonderful friends and mentors one could dream of having. Thank you for allowing me to grow and step out of my comfort zone to become who i was meant to be. And thank you for allowing me to pay it forward and help the next youth be TODAY'S (not tomorrow's) leaders, mentors, and change-makers.
Since I was seven years old I’ve been fortunate to have been involved in an organization that has truly made me into who I am - a strong woman who cares about leadership, citizenship, and public speaking. 4-H has given me so much and when I was seven, I had no idea how much that little green and white clover would mean to me thirteen years later.
4-H has taught me about the value of community service and why it is important to help those who are in need. I have learned that it is truly better to give than to receive and truly strive to make things better for my club, my community, my country, and my world. In high school I was the only one involved with 4-H (which I know surpirses many!), but that made it more important to get the word out. I remember my junior year when my IB Psychology teacher found out I was in 4-H, he looked at me and said, "I didn't peg you as a farmer". I then spent the next hour explaining that 4-H is so much more than just "farming". 4-H is people and experiences and life-skills. It's working on projects and livestock and planning your summer around the fair.
4-H has not only provided wonderful leaning opportunities, but at the same time, recognition of my efforts. 4-H does not emphasize winning at any cost, but it emphasizes the lessons and skills learned in the process, like it says, “learn by doing”. To me 4-H is fun, 4-H is opportunities, 4-H is meeting people and establishing friendships that will last forever, but most importantly, it is not just learning, but learning to live. As Dwight Eisenhower said, “I like 4-H’ers because they are dedicated to excellence. They want to do things better” and that is exactly right as I hope you will help me in contributing to the next generation of youth by donating today.
Please donate to my personal fundraising page by clicking the “Donate Now” button to the right. If you are unable to donate this year, I completely understand; I just ask that you keep 4-H in your thoughts as we continue to work to change the world. Also, feel free to forward this page on to friends and family members of your own so together we can "make the best better"!
