Most of you know that almost one year ago Nola Grace was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. While it has been a crazy, whirlwind of a year our sweet girl is SUCH a trooper. What most people don't understand is this is a life long thing. Unfortunately diet, exercise, etc has nothing to do with someone getting type 1 diabetes and unfortunately there is no cure. For the rest of her life Nola Grace will have to continuously monitor her glucose levels, she will have to count every carb she eats, and she will have to take multiple injections of insulin every single day!
Luckily though, that hasn't stopped her from being the happy, silly, energetic girl she is. She is still able to live her life to the fullest and slowly Type 1 diabets is becoming just another part of her day. Sadly though, that doesn't mean it isn't dangerous. Any sickness causes dangerous glucose level fluctuations, high glucose levels over time can lead to all kinds of issues, and sudden dangerous lows can cause her to pass out.
Please donate what you can. All of the money goes to research and help for familes with diabetes as well as providing a camp for diabetic children. We will appreciate every amount, with the hopes that one day with enough funding and research they can find a cure!
