I've been fundraising for Girls Gotta Run Foundation on-and-off for the past few years. Ever since hearing about the organization and meeting Kayla, their Executive Director I've always wanted to be involved and help fundraise in any capacity that I could.
When Kayla told me about the first-ever 100-mile ultra relay run organized by and for the GGRF Athletic Scholars in Bekoji, Ethiopia happening this upcoming January I knew I wanted to go. This 100 mile ultra relay is the first of its kind in Ethiopia. A female organized and executed event, the GGRF relay features girls from the GGRF Program in Bekoji and international athletes.
This 5-day trip includes traveling to Bekoji and participation in the GGRF Ultra Relay.
TOTAL TRIP COST: $2400
$1,200 for the trip and participation in the GGRF Ultra Relay
$1,200 donation to sponsor two girls and their families in the GGRF Bekoji Program
I am fundraising $2,400 to raise enough funds to sponsor two girls athletic scholarships in addition to the trip cost. With my trip I hope to document the relay and put together a photo project with the hopes of getting the girls running the relay involved in some capacity. I want to take this opportunity to get to know the girls apart of the GGRF program and witness the first-ever GGRF ultra relay.
