I started running as a way to destress during my last year of undergraduate and, through that experience, I met one of my best friends. Since then, I've run countless 5ks, a few 10ks, and 2 half marathons. It's been a longtime dream to run the Chicago Marathon. I turn 30 years old in 2020, so I pulled the trigger and signed up!
In 2020, I will be running with a charity, Equine Dreams. Equine Dreams is a non-profit equine therapy center that provides completely free services to qualified individuals. I got involved with Equine Assisted Therapy during my undergraduate and the impact on people is incredible! These therapies are rarely covered by insurance which is a huge barrier for many people to receive any animal-assisted therapies in the United States. Imagine if you had to pay $5 every time a cat purred on your chest or $10 to walk a dog! If you've ever had a connection with an animal during a moment of stress, emotional hardship, or physical barrier (ever gone for a walk when your sore?), then you should support this mission.
My fundraising deadline is the middle of October 2020. This means that I need to raise over $100 each month to reach my goal! Let's do this!!
