Lao Friends Hospital for Children (LFHC) in Luang Prabang, Laos is a very special place – it is the only paediatric hospital in Northern Laos but more importantly, the only free children’s hospital in the entire country. The hospital provides incredible healthcare to about 20,000 children and young people a year. Without LFCH, many children in Laos would go without life-saving medication, treatment and care for conditions such as malaria, pneumonia, beri-beri and malnutrition.
However, LFCH relies entirely on charitable donations and for this reason has organised the Luang Prabang Half Marathon on the 20th October 2019 – where ALL proceeds will go to the hospital and for the treatment of these children and young people.
Niamh spent 6 incredible months working with the wonderful team at LFHC between September 2018 to March 2019 and survived the run last year (just about!). This year - she is dragging Helen Cooper along for the ride. We are both really excited about our Lao adventure and fundraising to transform an already awesome hospital - into something even more special.
Thank you to everyone who has supported LFHC over the past 12 months - we are immensely grateful :)
