About the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation
The Siller Family started the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation to honor the memory of their brother, Stephen, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001. The Foundation was built upon the mantra, “while we have time, LET US DO GOOD,” and continues Stephen’s legacy by supporting our nation’s first responders and service members.
Firefighter Stephen Siller sacrificed his life in service to others, and in his memory, the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation developed the In the Line of Duty Program to honor our heroes. The In the Line of Duty Program supports our nation’s military, first responders, and their families. To date, the Foundation has spent more than $125 million dollars in support of those who sacrificed life and limb.
Through the Smart Home Program, the Foundation builds specially-adapted smart homes that enable our most catastrophically injured veterans to live more independent lives. To date, the Foundation has delivered, started construction or is in the design stage of a total of 85 homes.
Through our Fallen First Responder Home Program, the Foundation fulfills the debt on homes of firefighters and police officers killed in the line of duty. Since 2015, 40 families have been given the security and stability of a mortgage-free home. The Foundation has also made significant financial contributions to assist countless first responder families in need.
The Gold Star Family Home Program honors the legacy of those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. The Foundation provides mortgage-free homes to surviving families with young children. The Foundation has delivered or is in the planning stages of 30 Gold Star homes.
Your hard work on behalf of the Foundation helps us provide the support the families of our military and first responders so desperately need.
