Transplant Type: Kidney
What if you were living on borrowed time?
Xzarius Ryans is awaiting a new lease on life. In 2015, he was diagnosed with end stage renal disease (ESRD) secondary to heart disease. This came as a surprise, as there isn’t a history of kidney disease in his immediate family. Doctors say a kidney transplant is critical to his survival.
During this difficult time, Xzarius is grateful for the love and support of his wife, Rhonda, and their family and friends. He looks forward to receiving a transplant and having his energy levels restored so he can live an active life and feel like himself again. He wants nothing more than to go back to work and be able to enjoy life with his family. But right now, he needs your help.
Unfortunately, Xzarius’s hope for a new life comes at a very high price.
The average kidney transplant costs more than $335,000. And that’s only the beginning. Even with insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant costs, Xzarius still faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of his life, he will need follow-up care and anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they’re as critical to his survival as the transplant itself.
When he receives his transplant, he will have to stay near the transplant center for several weeks, followed by frequent visits for follow-up care. As a result, he will incur substantial expenses for travel, food and lodging. Due to his declining health, Xzarius had to stop working, further adding to his financial strain.
You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to the National Foundation for Transplants in honor of Xzarius.
If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the NFT South Carolina Transplant Fund, 3249 W. Sarazen’s Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Xzarius Ryans” in the memo line.
Thank you for your generosity!
