Tisha L. Chew
Transplant Type: Bone Marrow
What if you were living on borrowed time?
Tisha Chew is fighting for her life. On October 7, 2019, she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Receiving a cancer diagnosis was difficult for Tisha and her family. Tisha’s condition has continued to worsen, and doctors now say an allogenic bone marrow transplant is critical to her survival.
During this difficult time, Tisha is grateful for the love and support of her son, family and friends. She wishes they didn’t need to be so concerned about her health, but is grateful for their love and support. Before her health began to decline, she enjoyed going to the lake, boating, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends, but these days, her activities are quite limited. She looks forward to the transplant that will allow her to spend more time with her family and friends. Tisha is ready to feel like herself again and be able to resume a more active life. But right now, she needs your help.
Unfortunately, Tisha’s hope for a new life comes at a very high price.
The average allogenic stem cell transplant costs more than $1 million, and that’s only the beginning. Even with insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant cost, Tisha still faces significant expenses related to the procedure. Tisha is no longer able to work due to her illness, adding to the financial strain.
You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to the National Foundation for Transplants in honor of Tisha. If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the NFT Texas Transplant Fund, 3249 W. Sarazen’s Circle, Ste 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Tisha Chew” in the memo line.
Thank you for your generosity!
