Mislene Auguste Marc
Transplant Type: Kidney
Mislene Marc is awaiting a new lease on life. In 2016, she began to have issues with her kidneys. Mislene was diagnosed with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), which came as a surprise, as there is no family history of kidney disease. Her illness leaves her extremely tired and takes a toll on her quality of life. Doctors say a kidney transplant is necessary.
During this difficult time, this thirty-seven year old young lady is thankful for the love and support of her husband Maicol, and her family and friends. Mislene is a devoted mother of four, but her energy level keeps her from being the active mother she longs to be to her two boys and two girls. She looks forward to receiving a transplant that will give her back her energy and allow her to be more active with her family. She wants nothing more than to feel like herself again and to be able to watch her children (who are all currently under the age of ten) grow up. But right now, she needs your help.
Unfortunately, Mislene’s hope for a new life comes at a very high price. The average kidney transplant costsmore than $414,000. And that’s only the beginning. Even with insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant costs, Mislene still faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they’re as critical to her survival as the transplant itself. Mislene had to stop working in 2016 due to her declining health, further adding to her financial strain.
You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to National Foundation for Transplants in honor of Mislene. If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the NFT Florida Transplant Fund, 3249 W. Sarazens Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125.
