Running marathons has made such a positive impact on my life since I ran my first one in 2013. It has helped to improve my health by staying in shape and it has been a great outlet from the everyday stresses of life. I have run 21 marathons as of November 2019.
More importantly it has allowed me the opportunity to grow as a person, inspire others, and at the same time raise money for charities that helps improve the lives of kids. Money raised for the charities that I have run for/supported (Team for Kids - NYC Marathon 2015 & Chance for Childhood - London Marathon 2019) has had direct impact on these kids and significantly enhanced their chances to be both healthier and happier. I will also be running the Tokyo Marathon in March, 2020 in supoort of the Ronald McDonald House to help children with intractable diseases and their families.
The John M. Barry Boys & Girls Club of Newton, MA has given me another opportunity to support kids by inviting me to run the 2020 Boston Marathon as part of their team. I am humbled and very excited to raise money for this great charity that will have a positive impact on the lives of the kids of this club. The Club inspires and enables young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens by providing more than 140 programs for them to participate in each school year and to always be in a bullying-free zone. As the father of two teenage daughters, I know how very important this is.
Running the Boston Marathon has been a dream of mine since I started running. It is the world’s oldest annual marathon and the best known. Upon completion of this marathon, I will have completed all 6 of the Abbott World Major Marathons which as of October 2019 has only been done by 6,401 people in the world.
Please join me in supporting the John M. Barry Boys & Girls Club of Newton and its children while also helping me complete my dream of running the Boston Marathon and achieving my 6th Star. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated. All donations go directly to the club and are tax deductible.
