Almost 11 years ago, in October of 2007, Chuck and Deborah Smith officially opened the doors of New Start Rescue Mission as a Christian based housing facility.
Since then, New Start has provided housing for hundreds of men within a Christ centered environment; helping men find employment, helping men find their place as valued productive members in the community and most importantly helping them find their purpose as men who are loved and created to serve by God, our heavenly Father.
While not always successful, we know that many of these men have returned to their families and reestablished themselves within society as solid contributing members.
Over the years, New Start has dealt with many challenges including Chuck’s unexpected death in 2009 and financial hurdles. However, thanks to God’s provision through area churches and citizens, New Start has made it through tough times.
Today we are faced with a challenge that may seem insurmountable but with God as our CEO we believe we can overcome.
The New Start Mission building is owned by Deborah Smith, and she has graciously allowed New Start to reside there rent free for 10 years. Today, she is faced with special circumstances, and she needs to sell the property. In order to keep New Start Rescue Mission from closing our doors, we need to raise the funds to purchase the building from Deborah.
The appraised value of the property is $45,000. We need your prayers and help. This is an appeal to local businesses, churches and individuals to consider how you might help. We are establishing a go fund me page in order to reach as many supporters, friends and family in and around the Quincy area. We need to raise funding as soon as possible in order to continue to serve men who need resources to get back on their feet and provide instruction from God’s Word in seeking His will for their lives.
Please pray for the men of New Start Rescue Mission and ask God what you can do to help continue this valuable outreach in the Quincy community.
