The Academy of Music of the Paderewski Symphony Orchestra is a Chicago based community school of music founded in the year 2000 and serving families in Chicago and the suburbs. Our mission is to strengthen and develop our community by providing Polish-Americans with a cultural experience that they can actively participate in and be proud of. It is To enrich our lives by adding to it the beauty and value of one of the most distinct European cultures – POLISH culture!
Our school has experienced spectacular growth to the point that we have far outgrown the building we currently rent. Originally, we expected to have up to 70 students and today we teach over 190! We are more than ready to move into a larger facility that can not only meet our current needs but will enable us to serve even more students.
Two years ago, we found a small church building that is no longer being used. We have purchased it and are in the process of renovating and converting it to meet our needs. Once complete, this will be the perfect place for our current students to continue their musical education, and it will allow us to enroll many more students for whom we do not have room in our current facility. Our new location has more classrooms, a large choir room, an orchestra rehearsal room, a library, a recording studio, and a beautiful auditorium with a huge stage and seats for 130 listeners where we will be able to organize concerts, recitals, workshops, master classes and share our music to integrate, and inspire the entire community!
This investment comes with a number of challenges which require effort, dedication, and resources. The total cost of the project surpasses $1,300,000. We prepared a series of concerts and events to raise the necessary funds, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic we were forced to cancel most of them. But we did not let that stop us!Thanks to the support of our dedicated Board of Directors, our parents and students, many sponsors, and supporters - we have raised most of the needed funds and at this time we still need to raise $130,000 to cover the remaining costs. That is why we are pleading for your support!
If you like music, if you like children, if you like this project and find it valuable and worthy - please consider supporting it by making a donation. There is no amount that is too small, every dollar brings this project closer to becoming a reality. Once renovated this new facility will serve many generations and you will have a huge impact on the lives of countless children and youth.
We will be very grateful for your help. In the name of Students, Parents and Teachers of the Academy of Music of the PaSO
