A Mission Helping Youth for a Lifetime
The Nevada Center for Civic Engagement (NVCCE) has a mission to promote and support the study of history, law, and civics for the development of responsible and informed citizens who are committed to democratic principles and active engagement in representative government. It is our vision to increase civic engagement in Nevada youths, resulting in reduced risky behavior, increased success in schools, and leading to greater civic participation later in life.
A Program with Proven Success
The NVCCE educates both students and teachers about public policy and civic engagement to ensure the next generation of citizens are active participants in our country’s governance structure. One of NVCCE’s most successful programs is We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution. Outcomes from a 2001 We the People survey demonstrate that alumni voting rates are substantially higher than peers who did not participate in We the People. According to the American National Election Study, 82% of We the People alumni voted in the November 2000 election in comparison to peer voter turnout, which was 48%.
Help Us Reach Our Goal
While we are actively taking steps to encourage civic-minded education and promote civic engagement, we need your help to make our efforts go even further!
Each donation will help our organization host the We the People: Congressional District Hearings, the culminating activity for students participating in the We the People Program.
If you’re able, we’d love it if you could make a donation to help us achieve our mission. If you can’t give, but still want to support our cause, please share our page with your friends, family members, and coworkers. With more people aware of our cause, we’ll be one step closer to reaching our goal.
Our team here at the Nevada Center for Civic Engagement would like to thank you in advance for your support!
