As many of you know, I am on the Board of The Network (previously known as the Chicago Metropolitan Battered Women’s Network) and I am asking you to consider making a donation in October, which is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Domestic violence affects one in three women and one in four men. It crosses all economic, racial, and gender lines. It occurs where we should feel the most safe - in our homes and by those we hold closest. It can manifest in physical and/or emotional abuse.
The Network is a collaborative membership organization dedicated to improving the lives of those impacted by domestic violence through education, public policy, and advocacy. The Network also runs the State's domestic violence hotline, which is open 24/7 and staffed by trained professionals who can assist callers in over 130 languages.
Please know this is a small organization and your personal support will make a significant difference.
The Network's fundraising goal this year during the month of October is $35,000.
Thank you for considering contributing to The Network.
