Our neighbors need us now, more than ever.
Meet Josie: the home healthcare worker who takes public transportation to sit with an elderly woman, because her family cannot be with her.
Meet Carl: a custodian who makes sure the hospital rooms are clean and sanitized.
Meet Jaden: a Stratford elementary student who relies on school for food, and who needs virtual tutoring in order to keep pace.
These are some of our neighbors who urgently need our help, now, more than ever. They are why our United Way launched the Neighbors in Need Emergency Fund.
This fund will provide support to those who so desperately need it. The ones that our neighbors, community organizations, agencies & government leaders have told us need help the most during the COVID-19 crisis: health workers, out-of-school children, valuable employees who struggle to make ends meet. Those whose needs are rising sharply, but whose resources are not.
To help, we’re providing strategic and targeted relief, for critical needs like food, emergency housing, rent and utility assistance, and for needs that are emerging daily.
You can help, too: be the neighbor who helps your neighbor.
