The New England Healing (formerly Handicapped) Sport’s Association (NEHSA) will be hosting its 34th Annual Ski & Ride-a-Thon on February 2, 2019. NEHSA was founded in 1972 as a non-profit organization run by and for persons with disabilities wanting to enjoy active and independent lifestyles through participation in sports. This mission has expanded throughout the years to include children with all different abilities as well as Veteran’s who have served our Country. NEHSA is a volunteer-based organization that provides adaptive outdoor activities and instruction in snow sports like skiing – alpine & downhill, and snowboarding, and summer-time sports like kayaking, waterskiing, etc. You should see the difference these folks and this organization make in the lives of their members!
I began as a student at NEHSA when I was 7 years old. I have been an instructor since I turned 14, 2 years ago. I love being able to help all kinds of students. I volunteer at NEHSA every Sunday and have been lucky to be able to do special events like the returning Veteran's Day in March and the Ski & Ride-a-Thon. As you can tell, NEHSA is an important part of my community. The volunteers and staff are like family to me.
My mom and her friend, Linda have been running the Annual Ski & Ride-a-Thon for at least 7 years. I have appreciated everyone's support of my fundraising over the years. Once again, I will be riding for NEHSA on February 2, 2019. Please consider sponsoring me again...I'd really appreciate it! Thank you!
