Now in its 28th year, Apna Ghar provides holistic services and conducts outreach and advocacy to end gender violence in immigrant and refugee communities in and around Chicago, reaching more than 5000 people each year. We aim to shift and change norms, policies, institutions and people to respond better to survivors and to examine and eradicate the root causes of this violence - gender inequality and discrimination. Though lofty, this is an achievable goal if we tackle each issue at a time, and help one person at a time, which is what we do at Apna Ghar. Your support ensures that we can do this over the long term. Any amount helps. For example $15.00 provides one night of emergency shelter; $25.00 provides one night of transitional housing; $50.00 provides an hour with a legal advocate or a counselor; $100.00 provides a family with supervised visitation and safe exchange services; $100.00 also provides one hour of community outreach and so on, so please give generously!
