As of today there are over 187,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and over 15,000 deaths in New Jersey alone. Newark and its surrounding communities became the epicenter of COVID-19. The looming long-term impacts of this pandemic are just as concerning; loss of wages, closed schools, dwindling food supplies, and individual trauma must be addressed as well. The burden will be even greater in low-income and resource-limited communities. Against this unprecedented challenge we hope to fundraise to:
Continue to provide healthcare to children and families as they recover from the pandemic
Increase access to COVID-19 screening and testing
Partner with schools and community-based organizations to support efforts that address the needs of the community
By contributing to the COVID-19 Relief Fund, you are able to support a larger cause, with a tax-deductible donation. Any donation, big or small, helps us further our goal of helping the people of Newark and its surrounding communities.
For every $100 donation, you will receive a ticket to our virtual gala on October 22, 2020 at 7PM.
The mission of Newark Community Health Centers is to provide affordable, high quality, and accessible healthcare to the communities that we serve. As one of the largest providers of comprehensive primary care services for uninsured and medically underserved populations in one of the country’s most populated areas, our primary goal is to eliminate health disparities and help people live stronger, healthier, and happier lives.
NCHC was founded on October 2, 1986 as a Federally Qualified Health Center to address growing health disparities plaguing underserved populations in the City of Newark. As the population continued to increase in Newark and its surrounding cities, so did the need for access to quality healthcare. To meet this need we expanded our centers and services. Currently, we have 7 centers in Newark, East Orange, Irvington, and Orange that offer a full range of medical and dental services for children, adults, and seniors.
NCHC provides obstetrical and gynecological care, pediatric care, adolescent medicine services, internal medicine, geriatric care, dental care, a comprehensive HIV/Aids program, substance abuse evaluation and referrals, mental health counseling, podiatry, optometry and nutritional counseling. We are committed and dedicated to providing quality health care to our patients during this difficult time. NCHC’s goal is to meet the health care needs of the communities in which we serve and help people live stronger, healthier and happier lives. In 2019, we served 51,609 patients.
All contributions are tax-deductible as provide by law. Please consult your tax advisor for further information. NCHC is a 501c(3) not-for-profit organization, federal tax ID # 22-2747589.
