My Story: For over 7 years, I have volunteered for the National Black Marathoners Association (NBMA). My activities have ranged but here are a few
- Facebook admin
- Event Manager of the Annual summits
- Program & Event Manager Black Distance Running Hall of Fame
- Assisted with USA Track & Field grant
- Director, Board of NBMA
- Traveled around the country to help start running groups within faith-based and urban communities and much more.
It's a labor of love as I enjoy the work we do in the community or helping someone start an active life. My personal 5-year goal is to complete the Six Major Marathons. I have completed the 2017 NYC Marathon, thus, with your help, the second step will be the 2018 Boston Marathon. It is a dream and honor to raise funds for the NBMA as a 2018 Boston runner and complete my goal.
Official Story: The NBMA has received two invitational entries to the 2018 Boston Marathon. Each entry requires a fundraising minimum of $5,000. The donations will be used to support college scholarships, operations, educational programs, achievement awards, hall of fame, and coaching grants at the NBMA. This includes a running workshop for the Boston community. These two runners have spent hundreds of hours managing our Facebook and social media accounts, as well as managing “meet and greet” events at various US and European races and organizing NBMA Annual Summits. Please support these two runners as they begin their fundraising efforts.
