On December 7, 2019, Officer Stephen Carr was tragically murdered while sitting in his patrol vehicle at the Fayetteville Police Department. This has been an unimaginable loss for Officer Carr’s family and the officers of the Fayetteville Police Department. We have been humbled by the outpouring of support shown by our community during this difficult time. As we continue to grieve, we also look for ways to honor and remember Stephen. This May, Stephen’s name will be added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C during National Police Week. The Fayetteville Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #10 is asking for your support in sending four member officers to this event to honor Stephen’s ultimate sacrifice to his community.
The officers were hired with Stephen, and / or served with him on Dickson Street. They were like family, and spent time together on and off duty. Stephen loved them and their families. He never left the station at the end of a shift without telling them, “See you tomorrow, love you.” The money raised by this campaign will directly offset travel, lodging, and other expenses for these officers.
Funds raised after 100% of the officers’ travel expenses will be directed to a benevolence fund, which will provide for immediate financial needs of Fayetteville Police Officers wounded or killed in the line of duty.
Thank you for your continued support, and for helping in bringing closure to our brothers and sisters, who were some of Officer Stephen Carr's closest friends.
We hope you will share this campaign on your social media account. Like our Facebook page, found at the “Fayetteville FOP” button above, for campaign updates, notes of thanks, and trip photos. Thank you!
