I am running the Marine Corps Marathon this October 27th, 2019 in Washington DC. I am so excited I have the opportunity to raise money for the NFCR (National Foundation for Cancer Research). There are so many people close to me that have been affected by cancer-both friends and family. I feel blessed by all of my friends whose cancers are in remission or cured!! Yippee!! This would not have happened without ongoing cancer research. Today's cancer treatments are so different, compared to 25 years ago when my dad passed away from cancer. He would have turned 81 years old, yesterday, Aug. 25th. He missed watching my children grow up and become adults. My mother in law also lost her life too soon from cancer. I am so blessed my mother's cancer was "cured".
If cancer is something you have experienced in your family or friends, please consider donating to the National Foundation for Cancer Research and cheer me along running my first marathon!! I ran 15 miles last weekend and have 9 weeks to get ready for 26 miles!! I will do this :) . I am ready!!
