On Monday April 15, 2019, I will have the honor of running the 123rd Boston Marathon in support of the Natick Service Council. I am new to Massachusetts, and prior to today had spent a considerable amount of time thinking about how I could get involved in our Natick community. The immediate sense of belonging I experienced after moving here was a heart-felt difference that makes Natick different.
My call to action came when I heard about the over 700 families in our own backyard who need assistance with basic staples like food, heating, employment, and toiletries. Learning more about The Natick Service Council and the selfless work they do inspired me to get involved. The Council’s motto is “neighbors helping neighbors” while promoting self-sufficiency, dignity and compassion. I am thrilled to have this one of a kind opportunity to help our neighborhood families get through tough times.
I can’t think of a more satisfying reason to run 26.2 miles on behalf of this great organization and town.
Your tax-deductible donation will make a difference in the lives of hundreds of Natick families. Please consider a donation to this notable organization.
