Nathan's Ninjas Family Fun Run 2019

Nathan's Ninjas are back again! Please join us for the 4th annual Nathan's Ninjas family fun run on June 8 at 9:00 a.m. to educate and advocate for Duchenne muscular dystrophy - the most common degenerative genetic muscle disease in boys. All funds raised will go directly to Team Joseph – a non-profit organization whose mission is to aggressively fund cutting edge research to find a treatment or cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and to provide family assistance to those who need help with clinic visits and medical equipment! Duchenne muscular dystrophy is typically diagnosed between the ages of 2 and 6 and primarily affects boys. In fact, 99 percent of the almost 20,000 new cases each year are boys, meaning 1 boy out of every 3,500 will be diagnosed. Although there is still no cure to stop the progression of Duchenne, there is currently a treatment available for 13% of those diagnosed and Nathan is part of a trial for a similar drug that could help another 8%.  With continued hope and support from people like you, we know there is more promise than ever before that all of our boys will be able play football with their friends, run through their backyards catching bugs, climb the steps on the school bus, maintain their mobility and independence and live long healthy lives! ***NEW LOCATION - The fun run will be held at the Plymouth Canton Educational Park in Canton, MI on Saturday, June 8 and we're so excited for a day of family fun and the opportunity to make a difference in the fight against Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
