Did you Know that "Out of 10 Lower Income Students in Elementary School, 7 will graduate high school, 4 will attend college, but only 1 will earn a college degree"?
The National Academy of Science and Technology aims to provide high quality programs that promote equity and fill gaps in the education system. By Equity we mean that each person or group has equal access to economic, social, and educational opportunities. For members of groups that have been excluded from resources, equity may involve providing greater resources to compensate for past exclusion and discrimination. Our mission is to develop the next generation of leaders by providing STEM and literacy enrichment programs to children in these under-served communities. We accomplish this through (2) innovate programs:
1. PARAKLESIS - an intensive 10-week summer enrichment program for students in underserved communities, who have demonstrated an aptitude for academic excellence in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
2. UPSTREAM - our academic enrichment before and after-school program which provides lower income families with affordable tutoring and enrichment.
Please consider joining the cause by making a finacial contribution today. We are grateful for all contributions, but please note that recurring contributions help us budget and plan our program effectively. Thank you for your support.
