Will you be a champion for arts education for children in our community?
By supporting the Naples Art Association (NAA), you can!
The NAA is the only dedicated arts center in Southwest Florida that provides access to the arts for EVERYONE in our community – no matter their income, ability, or age. Your generous support of this challenge helps provide free art classes, scholarship assistance, tuition assistance, and so much more.
Your support helps provide access to the arts through the NAA’s SOARing through the Arts outreach programs with 500 students from area partner nonprofits, including Lighthouse of Collier, the STARability Foundation, and Multiple Sclerosis Center of Southwest Florida.
Through special photography workshops with the STARability Foundation, students with a variety of challenges including intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, autism, down syndrome, and other challenges are given a camera and allowed to take photographs – some for the first time. Their photographs are then proudly displayed at special exhibition at the NAA.
“Participating students are always so proud of their work. Hearing the public praise their efforts is priceless! said Karen Govern, STARability. Foundation executive director. “This program is one of our most popular and we hope to continue to partner with the NAA to provide it twice a year for many years to come.”
Your support helps award over $52,000 in scholarships to area high school students. At the annual Jade Riedel Scholarship Competition & Exhibition, Collier County junior and senior high school students are given the opportunity to apply for and be awarded $34,000 in scholarships and have their artwork professionally displayed.
Your support helps provide over $3,000 in free art classes to underpriveledged students from Calusa Park, Seagate, Veterans Memorial, and Big Cypress elementary schools.
Your support helps provide transportation to and tuition assistance for students who don’t have safe place to stay in the summer months to participate in the popular ARTScool summer arts program, where students use project-based learning to bridge math, science, language with fun classes like Unicorn Magic, Photoshop Fun, and Bugs & Botanicals.
It has been proven time and again that children with an education rich in the arts perform better in school, have lower school dropout rates, have college aspirations, and even show more compassion for others.
Your support will not only provide all of the above, it will inspire, cultivate, and nurture our next generation of leaders and artists.
