We were all celebrating her 65th birthday up in the beautiful Rocky Mountains when she was experiencing pain. Little did we know that just the following month, my mother-in-law would be diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer.
That was summer of 2017. Barbara is defeating statistical odds and is still fighting this disease. While still undergoing treatment, she is doing well and enjoying the beautiful California weather and an occasional trip down to her condo in Cabo. Life is good.
This July, I will participate in the Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon as part of team Project Purple. Project Purple is a non-profit organization created to raise awareness, support patients and families affected by the disease, and fund research efforts to defeat pancreatic cancer.
The best part is that I will be joined by my sister-in-law, aunt, and cousine as we run for Barbara. The race is ony 45 minutes from her home, so we are hopeful that she - along with other family members and friends - will be able to attend the event and post-race celebration.
Will you consider supporting us and this important cause? All of the money donated does directly to Project Purple and their pancreatic cancer mission (i.e. none goes toward my travel expenses, lodging, race fees, etc). It is also tax deductible.
Thank you in advance for your support. This will be a very special time for the family to come togther in support of Barbara and the fight against Pancreatic cancer.
