Hi!! My name is Naomi Kahan and I will be celebrating my Bat Mitzvah this year on June 15th. Becoming a Bat Mitzvah means that I will be considered a woman according to Jewish law and all the responsibilities which that entails in life. One responsibility is being a charitable person. With that in mind and with my love of sports, I have chosen to do a charitable project in support of Detroit PAL for kids in Detroit who may not have the same opportunities to participate in sports that I and many others do.
Detroit PAL is a non-profit organization positively impacting the lives of more than 14,000 children each year. They work to create safe and supportive places for kids to play. In partnership with the Detroit Police Department and community volunteers, Detroit PAL builds character in young people through athletic, academic and leadership development programs.
In addition, believing in Girl Power 😊, my fundraising will go to a program called Girls Changing the Game, which aims to provide increased quality programming for the girls Detroit PAL currently serves and to increase the number of girls that participate in Detroit PAL programs. I hope you can support me in supporting Detroit PAL and allowing many more young girls and children to participate in sports, which leads to so many other great things. Instead of receiving gifts for my Bat Mitzvah, I will be asking people to donate directly to Detroit PAL.
Please give what you can.
Love, Naomi
