I am a Mongolian amateur marathoner who was inspired to run and finish the Athens Authentic Marathon in 2015, while living in Athens. During our time in Athens, my daughter went to the same school and became close friends with Alexia, daughter of Alpha Omega member Spiros Jamas.
After the experience of the Athens Marathon, I was hooked by the challenge of marathon races and have since run in six events: Rome 2016, Amsterdam and Manchester in 2017, London and Edinburgh in 2018 and Snowdonia/Eryri in 2019. I've fundraised over £4’200 for Mongolia through VM London Marathon and various events.
This April, I’m aiming high and challenging myself for Boston Marathon 2020. My entry is granted through the Alpha Omega Council (AOC) and I’m pledged to raise a fund through my running effort and with support from my main sponsor.
AOC founded in 1976, is comprised of Americans of Hellenic ancestry. Its mission is to promote and encourage loyalty and patriotism to the United States of America; to cultivate the ideals of Hellenism; to unite Americans of Greek descent in fellowship and philanthropy. Since its inception, the Alpha Omega Council has contributed over $2,000,000 to various philanthropic causes.
Notably each year, the AOC provides the actual gold plated olive wreaths that crown
the winners of the Boston Marathon. https://www.alphaomegacouncil.org/
