MYKA Foundation is running a fundraiser campaign to aid in the prevention of COVID-19 Spread in Lebanon by supporting the immunization of 1,000 citizens.
Immunizations remains one of the most successful and cost-effective public health interventions, and it is with your generosity and support that we may reach our goal in helping one another fight this virus.
Despite the World Bank efforts in providing 2 Million doses of Pfizer, the government remains short on vaccine supply to the rest of its population, including 6.8 Million Lebanese and 1.2 Million Syrian Refugees, due to the Lebanese currency losing 80% of its value against the US Dollar. The Lebanese Government has allowed the private sector to provide Sputnik V, the Russian Brand, to be sold at $40 per individual. The price for the Vaccine is unaffordable to over 60% of the Lebanese Population, who live under the poverty line and whose monthly salary is now less than $100.
With over 3000 new COVID-19 cases daily and over 50 daily deaths in Lebanon, we urgently ask for your help and support. The money will be used for COVID-19 vaccines to Lebanon’s poorest and most vulnerable communities.
