The Hanasik 12U team from the Pittsburgh Power fastpitch softball organization is engaging in a project called MyCleatsMyCause, whereby the girls and coaches will dedicate their upcoming softball season to a specific charity/cause and then collect pledges throughout the season to donate back to their charity/cause.
The symbol of the girls' and coaches' commitment to this fundraising project are custom designed, personalized cleats for their cause. This project reinforces for the girls that they can use their role as a leader in their sport to be a leader in their community; through their leadership efforts, each player and coach can make the world a better place!
Hanasik 12U's #12 has dedicated her season to raising funds for the Lymphoma Foundation, playing to honor her Grandma who passed away and she wants others to survive from it.
Thank you to Mt. Lebanon State Farm Agent, Lindsay Brown, who graciously bought the team new cleats to have custom designed. Thank you to the Dormont-Mt. Lebanon-Castle Shannon Rotary who agreed to underwrite the artist - Garrett Hain. And thank you to Banksville printing who agreed to print the banner that will be used at each game. Because of this generosity, all proceeds raised will go directly to the girls' chosen charity, and in #12's case, the Lymphoma Foundation .
The team has not practiced since the social distancing guidelines of the COVID-19 pandemic were instituted. Each girl, however, continues to work hard to prepare for their season later this Spring/Summer, hopefully.
Since the girls are limited in their fundraising avenues, this fundraising page was created. Thank you for your consideration of supporting #12 in her upcoming season, dedicated to the memory of her Grandma.
