My Three Chambered Heart is looking to expand our programming by curating a reptile natural history mini-museum! This mobile exhibit will be available on loan to schools, libraries, and community centers. It will also travel along to My Three Chambered Heart classes and events.
The Reptile Natural History Mini-Museum will include:
- Reptile specimens: snake/lizard/turtle skeletons, preserved specimens from venomous species, a skin from a 15 foot reticulated python, and more!
- Engaging visuals and informative text: Can turtles feel their shells? How big was Titanoboa? How can snakes swallow prey larger than their head?
- Hands-on components: 3D printed replicas of rare reptile skulls can be touched and manipulated in a comparative anatomy display. Learn how a chameleon eye works and try your ability to see in two directions at once. Experience the effectiveness of a blue tongue skink's adaptation to distract predators. Test your knowledge of reptile species' natural geographic ranges with an interactive map.
The museum displays will be uniquely designed to break down easily for mobility and travel.
