I was diagnosed with post-partum cardiomyopathy when I was only 22 years old. I lived 15 years of my life in and out of congestive heart failure. in 2015, I was told I needed a heart transplant. I fought hard to reverse this condition and for 2 years, it was reversed. Then I went in to septic shock and my heart failed and I was put on the transplant list and had a transplant within a week.
Some heart diseases can be controlled and reversed. It's important that Go Red for Women continues to educate women on how to take care of themselves and know what the symptoms of heart issues are. We need to eat well and exercise. One woman with heart disease is too many.
As a result of my illness I founded the Health Conscious Diva and created Let's Go Plant-Based to help teach others to eat healthy so they can avoice serious health conditions, especially those that can be prevented by food.
