“Sometimes we choose our challenges, and at other times our challenges choose us” - Travis Roy
Tabor Academy graduate ‘95 :: Spinal Cord Injury Survivor :: Founder, Travis Roy Foundation
Like Travis Roy, I have been passionate about my sport during my four years at Tabor Academy. Tragically, Travis’s dream to play hockey beyond high school ended suddenly in an on-ice accident. I am honored to take on the distance running challenge and represent the Travis Roy Foundation in running the 123rd Boston Marathon on April 15, 2019.
I am inspired by the work of the Travis Roy Foundation for bettering the lives of those affected by spinal cord injuries. I am going to take this opportunity to run for those who may not be able to do so, and carry pride on my shoulders and a smile on my face knowing I am running on behalf of TRF. To those affected by spinal cord injuries, those with loved ones that have the same struggle, and those who are dedicated to living out the mission of TRF, this one's for you!
