At this year’s benefit performance we will have special guest musical performers and stand up comics. This purposeful event promises to entertain and illuminate our fortitude with beauty, hope, and humor.
Join us during our reception after the show for some light refreshments. There will also be a cash bar. The reception gives us an opportunity to visit, and for you to ask members of the MVRP foundation questions, meet and greet the artists, young and ageless alike, and eat.
Michael's passion was art and people. As a talented actor, writer, artist and comedian Mike's desire was to share his art and help to make the world a kinder more thoughtful place. We come together in celebration and in memory of Michael's short life, which tragically ended on May 25, 2013 at the age of 21. He died from a treatable side effect from a medication he was taking, while he was in the hospital.
Come celebrate his life and help us continue to raise funds to meet our goals. This year, our annual goal is to raise $25,000. In memory of Michael, our MVRP Foundation was created to raise funds to support young adult artists and support mental health programs. MVRP gives scholarships and helps fund mentor programs in organizations that Michael was associated with.
Our initiatives include supporting students and programs at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) to help fund their film and theater department and Clubs, providing student scholarships to the People’s Improvisation Theater (The PIT) called the MVRP PIT Scholars, donating to Jazz Power Initiative, and we provide financial donations to NAMI NYC metro (National Alliance on Mental Illness) whose organization provides mental health resources and programs for the community. We bring awareness and help end stigma.
Many young adults face challenges with mental health. With our scholarships and donations to the Arts, we give artists a voice of expression. We believe engagement with art can affect ones feeling of affiliation, acceptance and community. Art can help in a powerful way to find solutions, offering alternative ways of thinking about problems and enlighten minds. Help us to keep Michael’s light bright. His goal was to communicate joy and love and humor, through the arts. He wanted to awaken the minds of others and get people to think and question and see the world in new ways, from another’s point of view. Your caring donation, big or small, can help us accomplish this.
Donate to promote kindness and empathy, the way Michael Vincent Rosen-Pipitone lived....helping to make the world a better place, a more thoughtful place, a kinder place.
We appreciate your contributions. We appreciate you sharing your ideas with us.
We invite you to join our fundraising team, become a sponsor, and/or donate an item or service for our silent auction. And, share what we do with others. This can greatly increase our impact.
We strive to live our lives promoting kindness and empathy, the way Michael Vincent Rosen-Pipitone lived.
