At MusicXChange, we believe that music is a powerful vehicle for change, and we utilize a grassroots, bottom-up participatory approach.
Over the past four years, we have been working closely with local organizations to develop community programs in music therapy, music production and music education. Amongst them:
- Recording sessions aimed at preserving and promoting traditional music from Ghana to a worldwide audience.
-Music Therapy workshop at Akropong School for the Blinds, Accra Psychiatric Hospital (Accra, Ghana)
-Traditional music classes at Trinity Yard School (Wesern Region), Kopeiya (Volta Region), Drumming Up from poverty (Senya Beraku).
These programs provided jobs and training opportunities to local musicians, while positively impacting the lives of many through the healing power of music.
MusicXChange is entirely funded through the generosity of our individual donors, and this is why we are reaching out to you: please help us maximize our impact, by raising additional 3000$ towards project funding, and ensure the continuation of these activities throughout 2020!
