My family and I have operated a nonprofit venue named the Radioactive Events Center for over eight years. We are based in Kittanning, Pennsylvania. Our mission is to provide a platform for artists and musicians to learn, grow, and showcase their talents. We have faced many hardships that come with operating a business, but nothing like COVID-19. After hosting talent shows and concerts for years, our stage has been silent. By order of the Pennsylvania Governor's office, we along with other nonessential businesses were told to close our doors and stay home.
I am here to tell you that Music & the Arts are essential! I have witnessed so many beautiful things during this journey. Watching an eleven year old singing on our stage for the first time, and growing up to become a contestant on American Idol. A high school student volunteer who dreamed of becoming a nurse, graduating valedictorian and awarded a full college scholarship. A teenage punk rock drummer, grow to become one of Pittsburgh's rising producers. The amazing musicians from across this country who brought their energy and positive vibes. A college student discover her love for video production, now employed by one of the top advertising companies in the United States. My daughter who simply wanted a cool place for her friends to go, is now the talent buyer, and executive director of the Radioactive Events Center.
I am not a doctor. I am a musician. I know that music saved my life. I know that Music is our Cure! Please help me, to help others realize their dreams.
