We got the GO!!! myTEAM TRIUMPH - Hilton Head Island's Team Coco is Disney bound! Our chapter’s going back to where it all started and we couldn’t be more excited!
[In January 2016, Founder and President Katelyn Presti and Vice President Monica Preisig were to run in the Walt Disney World 48.6 mile Dopey Challenge together. A few weeks before the races, Monica severely injured her back. Realistically, there was little to no chance she was going to be able to run a 5K, 10K, half and full marathon. With the help of myTEAM TRIUMPH, Katelyn and Monica were able to become a running duo through all the races. It proves you can do anything you set your mind to if you truly believe with all your heart. You can create that "magic" that only comes from within, and that's the true meaning of "running with character." When Katelyn went to return the racing wheelchair to myTEAM TRIUMPH, she asked how she can get involved as she would love to push someone again in a race. She was asked, "Have you ever thought about starting your own chapter? You have the heart and personality to do it!" The rest is history! From this, myTEAM TRIUMPH-Hilton Head Island was founded. Now Katelyn, Monica, and many others are paying it forward and providing the opportunity for others with disabilities to experience the thrill of crossing the finish line. We can give them a way to forget about their limitations and defy expectations.]
On Mickey Mouse's birthday last year we completed our 1st myTEAM TRIUMPH race as an official chapter. Our chapter celebrated Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday this year with the best magical moment ever! We surprised Captain Coco with a trip of a lifetime! Tinkerbell even let us borrow some of her pixie dust for Coco’s special day! This Princess will lead her Angels (Chapter President Katelyn Presti & Team-Training & Race Day Operations Coordinator Ashley Rockwell) through runDisney’s 5K & 10K races at Walt Disney World! Coco is about to embark in a Captain’s dream while saying hi to her favorite Disney characters along the way! Team Coco is ready to take on some magical miles!
Please help get Team Coco to Disney, every dollar counts! All donations will go towards funding the expenses of covering the registration fee, travel, and Disney magic! Any remaining funds will be used to help spread awareness for the chapter, purchase our own racing wheelchair and provide Coco and future Captains the opportunity to find their Happily Ever After.
