About the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center
In 1968 the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center (MSAHC) opened its doors in a basement office. Today, 50 years later we provide high quality, comprehensive, fully integrated health and wellness services to adolescents and young adults, ages 10-24.
We are one of the first and largest adolescent specific programs in the United States delivering free, age appropriate, confidential health and wellness care. We offer; primary care, sexual and reproductive health care, mental health care, dental and optical care as well as specialized services for LGBQ and transgender youth, substance use & treatment, dealing with violence, health education, nutrition and wellness, HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, legal services, sex trafficking victims services. The MSAHC is the model for adolescent health programs around the world.
Most of our young people lack health insurance and have no ability to pay for healthcare. Without the MSAHC the majority would and have gone without medical care. We break down the economic and social barriers to health and wellness for young people by providing vital services for all who come to us.
