Collective REMAKE was running its Cooperative Education and Development Workshop series at two locations when the Covid19 crisis became a reality. Over 30 individuals, the majority returning citizens, men, women and LGBTQ folks, were engaged midway through the series. We were conducting a series of ten workshops, at the Healing and Trauma Center, on Saturdays, and at Timelist, a men's reentry home, on Monday evenings. We were determined to not lose the momentum of the workshop progression, or the growing relationships.
Collective REMAKE did not miss a beat. We immediately adjusted our budget, purchased five laptops from TechSoup, and safely delivered them to three reentry homes. We worked with workshop participants one-on-one so that participants could continue to access the Cooperative Education and Development Workshops ONLINE. We also expanded the scheduled series to retain relationships and the growing community during the pandemic that impacts us all.
Workshop participants and Collective REMAKE partners are moving forward with two new innovative projects including an online collective newsletter and a face mask production.
Please help us to expand access to our collective, community building endeavors.
