We want to change animal rescue in two ways.
First, we will focus on dogs and cats that are about to be euthanized. By donating to rescue the pet and volunteering to foster the pet until it is transported/adopted, we can save hundreds or thousands of animals.
Second, we will transport dogs and cats across the country to places they're statistically more likely to be adopted--using data science to tell us where those places are. Are dogs that look like a terrier more likely to be adopted in Philadelphia? Are older dogs more likely to be adopted in Palm Beach? The data will tell us, and we can move the animals using Doobert.com, which has 24,000 volunteers.
In order to do this, we need approximately $20,000 to build the software that will handle these two tasks. We have volunteers that will handle much of the second task, so we're focusing on the first one now.
