Our Cause

We are "Move for the Movement," a virtual dance fundraiser for Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, Inc.

Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, Inc is a global organization fighting to "eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes."

The movement, #BlackLivesMatter, was founded in response to the unjust murder of Trayvon Martin, a 17 year-old who was fatally shot by watch patrol as he was walking home.

Move for the Movement will take place on July 25th, 2020 from 11am-11pm EST. There will be five 90 minute dance classes, five 30 minute speaker sessions, and a 2 hour grand finale where and a 2 hour grand finale where you get to showcase what you have learned, celebrate, and bust a move!

The classes will be open to ALL levels and taught in styles including but not limited to Hip Hop,  Krump, Dance Hall,  Samba, and other dances of the African Diaspora. There will also be a curated music list of black artists that will be used for each class and the finale.

We created this campaign to raise money for the organization, spread awareness of the current racial injustices that plague our world, and come together as a community to celebrate the wonderful art of dance and music.
