Venice Family Clinic's mission is to provide quality primary health care to people in need. Launched in 1970 by volunteer physicians Philip Rossman, MD, founder, and Mayer B. Davidson, MD, co-founder, Venice Family Clinic first operated in space borrowed from a small, store-front dental office after normal business hours. There was—and remains—a tremendous unmet need for affordable health care for those who live in poverty.Today, with twelve sites, Venice Family Clinic is the medical home for people who might otherwise go without critically needed health care services. They offer Adult Primary Care, Teen Health, Chronic Disease Management, Mental Health, Women's Health, Homeless Health, Early Head Start, HIV/AIDS care, and Pediatrics among many more services.
I first learned about all the services at Venice Family Clinic when volunteering there as a breastfeeding educator, then as an in-kind donor (great place to donate toys!), then as a regular annual donor. Now, I rely on Venice Family Clinic as a place that I can refer clients to for low-fee mental health services.
As mothers, we spend lots of time and money on our kids' healthcare. Our family relies on the luxury of health insurance and the possibility of finding excellent doctors to treat our kids. But these days, fewer and fewer families have comprehensive health insurance. Please join us in this Mother's Day drive to raise $1000.00 for Venice Family Clinic, a 4-star rated charity on Charity Navigator!
