~update~ the marathon is now virtual , meaning ill be mapping a course locally to me in NH and running it on the day of marathon. Once i have the course mapped out, ill share it for anyone who would like to come and watch along the way!
Friends & Family- I’m happy to announce that on September 13th, 2020 I will be running the Tough Ruck Marathon with John Engvik and Bradley Carberry. I will be running with a ruck weighing at least 15 pounds for 26.2 miles, with every penny I raise going towards countless Veteran charities.
I will be running with two memorial streamers on my pack: one in loving memory of Dan Murphy, and the other in loving memory of Katie Thyne, please read below to learn more about Dan and Katie.
Dan will have a red & white streamer attached to my ruck to celebrate the memory and career as a paramedic and retired assistant fire chief . Dan could make anyone laugh- he loved his job, his beautiful wife Jennifer, his children, and his dogs.
Katie will have a blue streamer on my pack.
I will also be rucking in loving memory of Katherine M. Thyne- a Devoted Mother to Raegan, age 2, a Dedicated Police Officer and a U.S. Navy Veteran. Ofc. Katherine "Katie" Mary Thyne, of Newport News, Virginia, was formerly of Hudson, New Hampshire, passed away on January 23, 2020, from injuries she sustained in a LODD while serving with the Newport News Police Department. Katie is also survived by her Mother, her brothers - Tim, Jon, and Braedyn, as well as her fiancée Brittany. Katie was known for always having a smile on her face, loving dogs, and having a passion for basketball.

About Tough Ruck:
Tough Ruck 26.2 is group of military and civilians whose sole purpose is to Ruck in honor and in memory of our Fallen Service Members, Police, Firefighters and EMTs, while raising funds to support military families in times of need. We will walk a 26.2 mile certified course with our Rucks and carry the names of our Fallen comrades with us.
On April 15, 2013, the Tough Rucker were at the finish line of the Boston Marathon and joined the first responders to help those that were injured by the horrific blasts. They truly exemplify the best of what our Nation is. Today the Ruck happens the Sunday before Boston Marathon Monday in Concord, Massachusetts on the original trails of the Revolutionary War. Tough Ruck is the only Ruck march partnered with the Boston Marathon and finishers are awarded the official Boston Marathon Medals and receive recognition from the Boston Athletic Association. Military Friends Foundation is the official charity of Tough Ruck.
