12/9 UPDATE: Thank you for all the support so far! We just raised the goal a wee bit due to the large number of requests to participate. We are very close and hope you will spread the word to anyone interested in throwing a few more dollars this way.
We are entering into the winter and holiday seasons. Even in a typical year, Vermont winters bring higher expenses, with heating, clothing, and even transportation needs going up. When the stress of a pandemic and the strain of the economic recession are factored in, this winter and holiday season have the potentional to be more challenging than usual for many local families.
In light of this, the Montpelier Roxbury communities are coming together to raise funds to assist families throughout the Montpelier Roxbury School District. The MRPS Social Workers will coordinate the efforts to distribute the funds to families who request support. The funds will be distributed equitably across all 4 MRPS schools. This is just one of several ways neighbors are supporting neighbors, and school communities are supporting families in these challenging days.
Our goal is to raise $6,000 by December 2 and we need your HELP! Please share this page on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, email, and anywhere you can. Every dollar makes a difference in someone's life.
MRPS Partners in Education (MRPS PIE), the nonprofit that includes the 4 district caregiver groups is spearheading this fundraising so all donations are tax-deductible.
