"Playing It Forward by Paying it Forward": Giving Back to our Musicians Who Give Us So Much
"Playing It Forward by Paying It Forward"
Through their music and artistry, the MMC instructors, luthiers, and special guests, simply put, make the world a better place to live in. During the COVID-19 panedemic, festivals, musical camps (including one of ours scheduled in April), concerts, and group musical gatherings have had to been cancelled-thus directly impacting their ability to support both themselves, and their families.
As many are so painfully finding out, most governmental agencies have NOT been set up for entrepreneurs, musicians, artists, and independent contractors to file for unemployment benefits, further compounding their financial situation.
Our teachers ARE our friends... they need our help NOW. . Monroe Mandolin Camp is committed to supporting these artists and musicians, and on-line fundraising is one way we can help.
GoFundMe Charity has launched a #GivingTuesdayNow Match Program to give every nonprofit the opportunity to rally donations and support for its cause in the face of COVID-19 by making a $1,000 match grant to qualified nonprofits that raise at least $1,000 on GoFundMe Charity. Today, we are asking you to make a donation to the Monroe Mandolin Camp's #GivingTuesdayNow Match program.
We know one day we will be able to congregate together as a musical community and to share the joy of music in person. Until then, we kindly ask that you join us in this campaign to help support our dedicated instructors and artists. All proceeds will go to directly benefit them. - Heidi Herzog
Here's our 2019 "A Night of Monroe's Bluegrass Music" pre-camp kickoff, featuring our instructors, luthiers, some students, and some very special guests. Enjoy!
